Hayden Panettiere’s brother Jansen Panettiere has died at the age of 28. A source close to the family told the outlet that the artist and designer, who went by the name of RANE, died over the weekend in New York.
Hayden, 33, has yet to comment on her brother’s death and reps for the sister-brother duo did not immeditely respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
Just days before his death, Jansen shared an Instagram post that featured his girlfriend, Catherine Michie, posing in front of what seems to be one of his colorful paintings.
Jansen was seemingly close to his sister as he shared a black-and-white photo of her smiling as she cut his hair on Jan. 24.
“Not the first haircut she’s tried to give me,” he captioned the sweet snap.
Jansen initially followed in his older sister’s footsteps and tried out acting before getting into painting. He had roles in “Even Stevens,” “Blue’s Clues,” “Robots,” “Ice Age: The Meltdown” and “The Last Day of Summer,” per his IMDb page.
The siblings got to work together on three films: “Tiger Cruise” in 2004, “Racing Stripes” in 2005 and “The Forger” in 2011.

A cause of death has not been determined, but law enforcement sources told TMZ there was no suspected foul play.
Police reportedly received a call Sunday night around 5:30 p.m. to an undisclosed residence. However, no other details were made clear.
Jansen continued acting in smaller roles as he got older, even snagging an appereance in an episode of “The Walking Dead.”
Jansen kept acting through the 2010s, working on shows like “Major Crimes” and “The Walking Dead.” He also was attached to 5 more projects at the time of his death.
