She has died at the age of 37. She passed away on Tuesday, May 17th, after suffering from metastatic breast cancer since her Stage IV diagnosis back in December 2019.

She starred in As the World Turns and appeared in over 300 episodes of the soap opera which began way back in 1956 earning a reputation as one of the most beloved cast members in its long history.

It was reported that Schulenburg was recently in hospital but was released to enable her to spend more time with her family.

She is survived by her daughter who was born around the same time as her diagnosis back in December 2019 and her husband.

Schulenberg married fellow actor Zack Robidas — who has appeared in the shows “Succession,” “New Amsterdam” and “Sorry for Your Loss” — in 2013. They share a two-year-old daughter Coda.

In her last Instagram post on May 8, Schulenburg reflected on celebrating Mother’s Day with breast cancer. One of the photos shows her wearing an oxygen mask while reading a book with her daughter.

“What sort of wiped out purveyor of my destiny gave me the gift to bring life into this world just to attempt to assume mine in it’s position?”

she proceeded. “Zack and I waver between sheer obliteration and furious assurance. The account of the existence we endorsed on for the day we wedded won’t ever go back.

Presently we should change, remain present and (exclamation) battle.”
