Watch MMA fighter Shalie Lipp Car Crash CCTV Video Footage

Amateur MMA fighter Shalie Lipp died in a two-vehicle accident on Interstate 94 in Minnesota on Sunday morning, according to Minnesota State Patrol. She was 21.

Lipp was one of two passengers in a Chevy Malibu when it hit a Jeep Cherokee on the Red River Bridge on I-94 in Moorhead, according to Valley News Live.

Minnesota State Patrol reported Lipp was a passenger in a 2015 Chevrolet Malibu which “made contact” with a 2017 Jeep Cherokee travelling eastbound on the Red River Bridge.

According to their report, the incident occurred at about 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 7.

It also said that all occupants of the two vehicles were wearing a seatbelt except for Lipp.

The other people involved were all uninjured, according to the crash report.

Lipp was scheduled to fight at No Mercy XI at Kent Freeman Arena at the Holiday Inn in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, on May 20.

No one in the Cherokee was injured.

The interstate was temporarily closed on Sunday as officials cleared the scene. The crash is still under investigation.

“At 19 years old, she started fighting the top fighters in the Midwest. … She was someone everyone knew was going to go somewhere and end up in the UFC.”

Last month, Lipp shared her excitement for the event in a post on Instagram.

“I would love it if you guys came out and supported me so close to my hometown!” she wrote. “Bring some friends, have a couple drinks, and enjoy some violence!”

Lipp is 3-2 in her amateur MMA career. She won her first two bouts before falling to Cheyanne Bowers in March 2022.
